Singh & Vaughn

In this month’s Escapist Newsletter, I mentioned that the sixth Kitty Norville novel was going to be called Kitty Raises Hell; well, now here is the cover. It still doesn’t come out until April 2009 and there isn’t anything else up about it yet, but we have this to drool over.

Nalini Singh has posted excerpts for Branded by Fire and Angels’ Blood (due out March 3, 2009). Angels’ Blood starts Singh’s new Guild Hunter series and Branded by Fire is Mercy’s series, the next Psy-Changeling novel, and is tentatively scheduled for mid-2009 but there isn’t a confirmed date yet.

The Galaxy Express has an interesting article up and I agree with some of their choices, but I don’t know all of them. They have a list of the 15 hottest couples in SciFi Romance. They actually have it broken out into three categories – television, books, and film – with five couples for each category. Of their list, I recognized 2 from the television section (X-Files & Farscape); 1 from the books (yea Outlander!); and 2 from the film list (Spiderman & Terminator), but I have heard of one other, just never saw them. It’s kind of strange, though, that they included pictures of Han Solo and Princess Leia, but they weren’t included in the top 15 hottest couples.

I came across an intriguing site today. HorrorYearBook has quite a site going for it. They have an entire section devoted to interviews and they have a few that I’m definitely going to read. Here’s a few of the interesting ones I’ve found:

There’s actually a ton more that seem interesting, but I’m going to stop here.  Make sure you check out the site.  Especially if you’re into both film and novels.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Hello, and thanks so much for the linkage! The reason I didn’t include Han and Leia is that SFSignal’s Valentine Day post on the “Top Couples in Science Fiction” (http://www.sfsignal.com/archives/006263.html) already included them and I didn’t want to repeat that. Plus, Han & Leia are the hottest of all and as one of my commenters pointed out, they’re in a category of their own.

My list is meant to celebrate & inspire conversation about kewl couples in science fiction romance. I was laughing with my husband this morning as the realization hit me that I’d included some obscure couples. But with these kinds of exercises, everyone’s personal favorites will always come into play and I’d love to hear about what others would include.
