Weekly Geeks #26 – Visitations

This week’s Weekly Geeks is to visit other Weekly Geek participants and see what they are up to.  The idea is to visit 5 different Weekly Geekers, ones we haven’t visited before.  So here’s the list of bloggers I checked out…

Everyday Reads – It seems she has just started reading the Southern Vampires series and that got me interested in seeing what else has been on her shelf.  As such, I came across her review of The Book of Renfield: A Gospel of Dracula by Tim Lucas.  I’ve never gotten completely through Dracula by Bram Stoker, but that was mainly due to the journal style of writing.  I’m not crazy about the different POVs jumping around, but Lightheaded makes this novel sound really interesting. And she’s read The Vampyre by John Polidori!  Now I’m really intrigued.  I was just discussing this novel last week for Weekly Geeks #25.

Just Read – I’ve been looking for some new challenges, and one Sherrie is doing is called 2nd Books.  It sounds like a fun challenge and there are a few authors I’ve only read once so this will make sure I get back to them sooner rather than later.  Thanks Sherrie for pointing this one out to me.

Cece: At It Again – All I have to say is she has a big red button in her sidebar that says do not push.  Seriously, who wouldn’t want to push it?!  :P  So I did, oh my god…that’s addicting.  It’s great.  Okay, I’m lovin’ the site just by the big red button.  That’s not the only toy I’ve been finding over there.  She also has a link to a human calendar (but the link isn’t working at the moment, so I’m going to try again later) and a site where you can donate rice just for answering a question.  I like toys.

Diary of an Eccentric – This is the second time I’ve seen someone review The Memorist by MJ Rose.  While it doesn’t seem like a novel I would normally pick up, the reviews I’ve been seeing have intrigued me.

Alright, so I only did four blogs, but I’ve been looking through blogs for about an hour now and that’s all I could find.  This isn’t the first time we’ve done this challenge, so I’ve been to a lot of the WG participant sites already, so it was fun to find these four.  They’ve given me a lot of ideas..hehe

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I also spend quite some time reading through blogs. Seemed like I either “knew” the blogger and had spent time on their blog before or we had absolutely nothing in common. And I am heading over to click that red bottom. I have seen in before in CeCe’s blog, but didn’t dare push it though – who knows what is out there in the blogosphere? LOL.
