Cupid, Inc. by M. Bardsley

I can’t remember if I was told this was considered paranormal or not, but in my opinion, Cupid, Inc. by Michele Bardsley is definitely a romance. Don’t get me wrong, it was a fun and quick read with an intriguing concept, but it just wasn’t what I was looking for. The basic idea is Eros and Psyche (along with Aphrodite) have started a sexual fantasy business and we’re invited along to see four clients get their fantasies. Each story involves romance and some great sex, but that’s all there really is. We’re not really with any of the characters long enough to learn much about them. In order to get the four short stories in, it seems like character development was left behind and the action was the focus. We didn’t even get to know much about Eros, Psyche, or Aphrodite, but just their surface personalities. I’m not sure how well this worked. I almost wished that I was reading one story and the gods kept interfering or something.

Overall, it was a fun read. It was amusing seeing Eros and Psyche bring together four different couples who probably would have never met without them. It’s not something I’m going to run out and buy, but I would recommend it to anyone looking for something quick and romantic.
