A 30-something mother of a teenage (going on 30) daughter, I read between 4-8 books a week. Between work, chauffeur responsibilities, and reading, I don’t have much free time . However, I do like to knit and crochet in the winter (quality scarves and hats are highly underrated!). My favorite genres are urban fantasy, contemporary romance, and paranormal romance. I tend to binge read when I find a great new series, so I love to discover new-to-me series that already have several books out.

Jennifer Estep doesn’t disappoint with the second novel in her Black Blade series, Dark Heart of Magic. In this installment, danger lurks around every corner, and Lila doesn’t know who she can trust (admittedly, she’s already a pretty paranoid person due to her prior occupation of thief). Tons of action, a […]
The story continues with a bang in, Three’s a Clan, the third book in Roxy Mews’ Hart Clan Hybrids series (hehe!). This installment follows Shelly, the Protector of her vampire Family and sister of Jake (the hero in A Love Worth Biting For), as she fights her attraction to a couple of […]
There are so many enthusiastic fans of J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series that it can be difficult to avoid spoilers. With the newest release in the series, The Shadows, the public outcry was unavoidable and many were unhappy with the ending and random weird plot elements. I think I’m in […]
Do you like the show Criminal Minds? Do you think eyeballs are creepy? If you answered yes to one (or both) of those questions, then go grab a copy of Blind by Sidney Bristol. If you answered no, then just try it anyways. Serial killers, eyeballs, and sexy cops, oh my! Blind […]
High-octane and adrenaline-filled, Revive by Tracey Martin is a must read. A story of genetic manipulation, missing memories, and the awkward stages of young love, Revive is sure to captivate. What the mind forgets, the heart remembers. Alone in a train station bathroom, Sophia Hernandez has no memory of who she is or how […]
A dark and twisty story that encapsulates the best that urban fantasy has to offer, Menagerie by Rachel Vincent is supremely satisfying. In the back of my mind, I heard dark, discordant calliope music while reading (creepy and foreboding). A crazy alternate reality of paranoid humans seeking to cage the monsters […]
It’s a fantastic feeling when a book recommendation surpasses expectations. Shadows of Fate by Angela Dennis did just that. An example of great world-building within the story, that doesn’t overwhelm the reader with too much information to process at once, is Shadows of Fate. The story follows Brenna, a Shadow Bearer banished to […]
Roxy Mews is in the house – er, on the blog today! She’s here to spread the word about her new release Three’s a Clan and to share a little bonus story with all of our (and her) fabulous readers. Roxy’s Hart Clan Hybrids books are fun, sexy reads with plenty of […]
I don’t think I can explain how much I love this series by Alyssa Cole. There’s a compelling combination seriousness amid such danger in this post apocalyptic world, but there’s also an element of humanity – both good and bad. What happens when electricity fails and people are left to figure […]
Odd Melody, book 2 in Virginia Nelson’s The Odd Series, is just as fun and satisfying as book 1. Half-fae/half-siren, Janie Smith, hasn’t had an opportunity to catch her breath since she came fully into her siren powers and found out that all sorts of magical creatures really exist. She’s […]
