It’s another day and another Weekly Geeks quote. Yesterday I gave you two from Cookie Monster, so today we’re going to go completely old school and take a couple of lines from a couple of great horror authors:

Everywhere I see bliss, from which I alone am irrevocably excluded. I was benevolent and good; misery made me a fiend. Make me happy, and I shall again be virtuous. – from Frankenstein by Mary Shelley 1797-1851

I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active – not more happy – nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. – Edgar Allen Poe 1809-1849

Today’s BBAW Contest is for a copy of Marjorie Liu’s Tiger Eye, the first novel in the Dirk & Steele series, so if you’re interested, get over there and enter. You only have until 8am tomorrow morning.

If you haven’t gone over there yet, Alpha Heroes is giving away a hardcover copy of Kushiel’s Mercy, the sixth book in the series. I haven’t read this series yet, but I have not heard one negative thing about it, so it’ll be reviewed here at some point. I just have to get to it.

Shapeshifter Romance is having an interesting discussion today. Teresa D’Amario stated the topic of responsibility and how shapeshifters are perceived. Whether authors are helping or hindering the conservation efforts for those animals on the endangered species lists.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
