Today was the day. I walked a 5K for the first time and I did it for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. It was quite an experience, but not a bad one. It was such a madhouse in downtown Detroit today, that it was a bit much […]
Mario Acevedo’s The Nymphos of Rocky Flats is a book that has its moments but still leaves a lot to be desired. Back home in the States, the reluctantly undead former infantryman pays penance for his war-time sins—making a living as a private detective able to unravel mysteries that baffle […]
It’s time to announce the next New Author Mini Challenge, and this time we’re going to focus on a group of authors that are very widespread and very non-genre specific. I’ll be honest, the idea was totally inspired by two challenges Dark Faerie Tales is hosting for 2010 – Debut […]
I was browsing through Rotten Tomatoes, while I was waiting for Stargate U and Merlin to end (I swear, he has got to be deaf), and came across a few movies I haven’t seen much on yet. So I thought I would share.
Jonah Hex
The Wild Hunt
Survival of the Dead
Kelling Gay has introduced her alter-ego, Kelly Keaton, via Facebook. Kelly Keaton will be debuting on February 22, 2011 with her novel, Darkness Becomes Her, the first novel in the new Gods & Monsters series. There will be a second novel that will follow in 2012 and we can only […]
The Dark Days series by Jocelynn Drake has always impressed me with its heart stopping action and intriguing characters and Dawnbreaker thankfully continues in that trend. Those of her race fear Mira for the lethal fire she bends to her will—a power unique among nightwalkers, both a gift . . […]
I was in the mood to procrastinate tonight and I started to fiddle around with my Kindle. Has everyone looked at their reader lately? Do you know how many books are on it? I so didn’t realize that I had over 50 books waiting for me to read. Granted, a […]
Today, Literary Escapism is ecstatic to welcome Sara Creasy, author of Song of Scarabaeus. Trained since childhood by the oppressive Crib government to program advanced terraforming technology called biocyph seeds, Edie is kidnapped for her valuable skills, assigned a reluctant bodyguard (a former freedom fighter named Finn) and coerced into […]
First off, I have to apologize. I do not have any guest authors this week, which means no contests. However, the good news is I will have two fabulous ones coming up. I interviewed Vicki Pettersson and Keri Arthur while at RT and both of them will be going live next week. I’ll be giving away two copies of City of Souls on Tuesday and a copy of Moon Sworn on Thursday.
I’ll be announcing the winner for Touching Darkness by Jaime Rush Friday, so if you haven’t entered yet, you only have two days to do so. Also, Michele, you won a copy of Flesh Circus by Lilith Saintcrow via the Battle Royale. Please contact me by Friday otherwise I will draw a new winner.
Now, on with the news…Kerrelyn Sparks unveiled the cover for the next Immortals After Dark novel, Eat Prey Love, which is due out September 28, 2010.
