The Ghostly Queen

11 November 2009 Jackie 4

Laurell K Hamilton has announced the title to the 19th Anita Blake novel. Bullet will be out in June. Flirt, the surprise 18th Anita novel that wasn’t planned, will be out February 2, 2010. LKH also says that both novels will feature more of the zombie raising than the previous books have. So that is awesome news.

Check out what I found over at SciFiGuy’s Weekend Report. It’s the cover for the Queen Victoria: Demon Hunter novel. I saw this awhile ago and I couldn’t believe it. There is also a Lincoln: Vampire Hunter out there as well. This new craze of history revamping is starting to get really weird.

Maria Snyder has posted the first chapter to her upcoming YA novel, Inside Out. In more excerpt goodness, Ann Aguirre has posted a snippet from Skin Tight, the second novel in her Skin series. Nalini Singh has also posted the first chapter of Archangels’ Kiss. Rachel Caine is giving us two doses of Morganville Vampires with her online short story, Grudge, which features Shane, plus she has posted a sample chapter from the next Morganville novel, Kiss of Death.

Call me a geek if you want…

10 November 2009 Jackie 17

…but I just found out that I was blurbed in a published book. One that was published back in April. How did I miss this!? It’s on the second page of the reviews, which in itself is amazing, but then I find it on the back cover as well! Sorry, but I am having an extreme giddy freakfest right now. Call me a geek if you want, but this is my first (that I know of) and it’s kind of exciting for me. I hadn’t thought I had gotten to this point and then to find it on Curse the Dawn by Karen Chance – one of my favorite authors – it’s exciting!

Bitter Night by DP Francis

9 November 2009 Jackie 4

I’ve been hearing a lot about Diana Pharaoh Francis’ Bitter Night, the first book in her new Horngate Witches series, and at first I wasn’t sure what to think about it. Now that I have had my hands on a copy, oh yeah, I cannot wait until the second novel comes out.

I think what stands out the most for me is the fact that this isn’t another urban fantasy about vampires or shapeshifters, but something else with witch thrown in. Witches are the powerhouses here, but they surround themselves with Shadowblades and Sunspears who can be just as powerful in their own right.

Charlaine Harris Interview

7 November 2009 Jackie 2

Yesterday, ABCNews posted an interview with Charlaine Harris and she talks about two vampires that generally top a lot of lists.  Since the topic was one that has come up in a lot of forums that I belong to lately, I figured people would want to see the part where […]

Less News Than I Thought

6 November 2009 Jackie 2

Check out what I found over at Babbling About Books. It’s the US cover for JR Ward’s Lover Mine, the eight Black Dagger Brotherhood novel.

Richelle Mead has some unfortunate news. For anyone waiting on the third Dark Swan novels, the release for the third novel, Iron Crowned, has been push back to January 2011. The good news is that Richelle says the fourth book should be coming out in 2011 as well.

Winners Announced!

6 November 2009 Jackie 3

Check me out…I’m not behind on announcing winners for any contests.  I am kind of shocked since I’ve been a little flaky lately.  I think I’m starting to get back on track.  Woot! Tto start out, I determined the winner by inputting everyone’s names into random.org, randomizing them 2 or […]

Contests Announcements

5 November 2009 Jackie 2

I know I have a few winners to announce, those will get done tonight. I also have a few prizes that need to be mailed. Those will go out this weekend.

I’m currently cleaning my desk and that includes the ever growing TBR stack. If I ever want to use my Kindle again, I really need to get through my pile, so I’m going to give some away and get them as ebooks. That’s good news for my readers. Who else would I give them to but you guys, right? I have six books to give away
